Weak execution and a weak premise need different fixes
A salvageable prompt may name the right subject but omit the visible tension that makes the idea legible: a specific expression, evidence of an outcome, a clear foreground, or an unanswered question. Rewriting can make that direction more concrete without changing the video's promise.
A rewrite cannot rescue a misleading or irrelevant premise. It also should not erase deliberate brand, composition, style, or reference choices. Auto-Fix therefore treats the prompt as the editable layer and passes advanced settings as context rather than returning replacements for them.
Best for
A relevant thumbnail concept whose prompt lacks specific emotion, curiosity, focal action, or visual hierarchy.
Testing a stronger prompt while preserving carefully chosen advanced Studio settings.
Reviewing named prompt changes and a before-and-after advisory score before generation.
Not designed for
Changing pixels in an existing or uploaded image; use a bounded image-editing workflow for that job.
Repairing a concept whose viewer promise, subject, or relationship to the video is fundamentally wrong.
Guaranteeing a higher live YouTube CTR, more impressions, monetization, or audience fit.
How the current Auto-Fix cycle works
The endpoint sanitizes the original prompt, summarizes active brand colors, composition, style, expression, and reference labels, and asks Claude for an enhanced prompt plus a change list. It scores the candidate and may refine it within the server's current optimization budget, retaining the strongest candidate found in that run.
The response contains only the display prompt under improved settings, along with changes, predicted factor details, and a short-lived prompt token. The client overlays that prompt on the untouched settings, performs a token-linked prediction refresh, and shows score deltas. The token lets the server use the private Auto-Fix prompt for a later generation; it is tied to the user, replaced by a newer Auto-Fix token, expires, and is consumed when used for generation.
What each part does
These are the practical decisions available in the current TubeBoosts workflow.
Original prompt anchor
Keeps repeat Auto-Fix attempts based on the user's clean concept until the user edits it.
Edit the rewritten prompt when you want that revision to become the next starting point.
Advanced settings context
Tells the rewriter about active style, composition, colors, expression, and reference roles.
Confirm those settings first because Auto-Fix preserves them rather than choosing new values.
Change summary
Lists the prompt-level optimizations returned by the Auto-Fix service.
Check that every reported change remains truthful to the planned video.
Score comparison
Refreshes the prediction and displays previous, current, and changed factor values when available.
Treat a higher advisory score as a reason to inspect the new brief, not proof of future clicks.
Auto-Fix prompt token
Links the approved private rewrite to a subsequent server-side generation and authorized re-score.
Generate while the current token is valid; rerun Auto-Fix if Studio reports that it expired or was already used.
How to use Weak Thumbnail Prompt Rewriter
A short process that keeps the tool inside a real thumbnail decision.
Diagnose the prompt-level weakness
Read the CTR factor feedback and decide whether the concept is sound but underspecified enough for a rewrite.
Check: Would stronger wording fix the issue without changing what the video promises?
Lock the settings you mean to keep
Review brand colors, composition, style, expression, and references before running Auto-Fix.
Check: Are the advanced settings already aligned with the intended concept?
Review the returned rewrite
Compare the original and rewritten prompt, read the change list, and inspect the refreshed score and factor deltas.
Check: Did the rewrite add useful specificity without inventing claims or changing the premise?
Generate and inspect the pixels
Adjust the prompt if needed, generate with the active Auto-Fix session, and review the actual image before publishing.
Check: Does the rendered thumbnail match the video and work at small size despite the advisory score?
Hypothetical budget-camera prompt repair
Setup
Suppose a creator's prompt says 'best cheap camera' while a close-up composition, red-and-white brand palette, and product reference are already selected.
Action
Auto-Fix could rewrite only the prompt to describe a creator comparing a scratched budget camera with a partially hidden price receipt and a skeptical expression, while the existing composition, palette, style, and reference stay selected.
Practical result
Studio could report added curiosity and emotional specificity and show a different advisory score. This hypothetical does not claim a customer result, a pixel edit, or a live CTR increase.
Lesson
A useful rewrite makes the same honest premise easier to visualize; it does not replace advanced controls or audience testing.
What this tool does not promise
Auto-Fix returns a prompt change only; it does not edit pixels in an existing thumbnail.
Advanced settings are supplied as context and preserved by the client merge, but the generated model can still interpret instructions imperfectly.
The refreshed score evaluates prompt and settings signals, not the finished image or live YouTube behavior.
Tokens are temporary workflow credentials, not permanent saved edits or a promise that generation will succeed.
Questions about Weak Thumbnail Prompt Rewriter
Will Auto-Fix change my brand colors or composition?
No. The current API returns only an improved prompt. Studio merges that prompt over the existing settings, preserving brand colors, composition, style, references, and other advanced choices.
Does Auto-Fix edit the thumbnail I already generated?
No. It rewrites the generation prompt. Use the Inpaint Editor for a bounded change to an existing image, or generate a new result from the rewritten prompt.
What do the reported score changes mean?
The server scores candidate prompts, and Studio refreshes the prediction after accepting the rewrite. The resulting delta compares advisory prompt-and-settings scores; it is not measured CTR lift.
Why can an Auto-Fix session expire or stop working?
The server issues a short-lived, user-bound prompt token, keeps only the latest one, and consumes it when generation uses it. Run Auto-Fix again when the current token has expired, been replaced, or already been used.
