The mask and prompt travel together
The editor places a red overlay over the painted region while retaining a lossless black-and-white mask behind the preview. Brush Size runs from 5 to 100 pixels, and mask strokes can be undone or redone before submission. Clear Mask removes the active selection so you can start the region again.
Submitting reserves a flat one credit and creates an asynchronous fill job. Studio polls that job for completion, then records the output as an inpaint revision with the source image ID and URL. A failed submission is refunded by the API; a finished image is still a model-generated interpretation, not a deterministic repair.

Brush

Describes what the fill model should place inside the selected region.
Name one replacement and include only nearby lighting or material details that help it belong.

Choose a stable source

Paint the editable region
Brush over the unwanted element and a modest amount of its immediate surroundings. Switch to Eraser for any protected details caught by the mask.

Hypothetical: replace a muddy desk prop
Setup
A tutorial thumbnail has a strong presenter and headline area, but a dark object on the desk reads as an unhelpful blob.
Action
The creator masks the object plus a narrow edge of the desk and prompts for 'a compact silver microphone on the same desk, matching the warm side light.'
Practical result
The asynchronous job would produce a linked candidate for comparison with the source; the creator would still inspect edges and scene consistency before using it.
Lesson
A contained mask and a single visual request make the outcome easier to judge, but they do not make the fill predictable pixel by pixel.
What this tool does not promise
A mask guides the model; it does not create a guaranteed perfect boundary around the changed pixels.
The fill process cannot promise exact identity, anatomy, typography, logos, or object geometry.
One credit is reserved for each submitted inpaint job, so mask and prompt review should happen first.
Results depend on the source image and model response, and every completed revision should be reviewed before publication.

Does the edit happen immediately in the browser?

Will everything outside the red mask remain identical?
